NTA NEET UG 2025 Results to be Announced on June 14: Check Final Answer Key, Merit List at neet.nta.nic.in

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is set to release the NEET UG 2025 results on June 14, 2025, for over 22.7 lakh candidates who appeared for the exam on May 4, 2025. Conducted across 5,453 centers in 557 cities in India and 14 international cities, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG) is the gateway for admission to undergraduate medical courses like MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BUMS, BHMS, and BSMS. Alongside the results, NTA will publish the final answer key, merit list, and cutoff marks on the official website, neet.nta.nic.in.

How to Check NEET UG 2025 Results

Candidates can access their results and scorecards by following these simple steps:

  1. Visit the official NTA website: neet.nta.nic.in.
  2. Click on the “NEET UG 2025 Result” link on the homepage.
  3. Enter your application number, date of birth, and security pin.
  4. Submit the details to view your scorecard.
  5. Download and save the scorecard for future reference during counseling.

The scorecard will include key details such as the candidate’s name, roll number, subject-wise marks (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), total marks out of 720, percentile score, All India Rank (AIR), category rank, and qualifying status.

Final Answer Key and Objection Window

The provisional answer key and OMR response sheets for NEET UG 2025 were released on June 3, 2025, allowing candidates to raise objections until June 5, 2025, for a non-refundable fee of ₹200 per question. The final answer key, incorporating valid objections reviewed by an expert committee, will be released alongside the results on June 14, 2025. Notably, one Chemistry question had two correct answer options, and as per NTA policy, all candidates who attempted it will receive full marks. The final answer key cannot be challenged and will be used to calculate the results.

NEET UG 2025 Merit List and Cutoff

NTA will release multiple merit lists, including an overall merit list with all candidates’ ranks and a separate list for the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats. State-specific merit lists for 85% state quota seats will also be prepared by respective state counseling authorities. The merit list will include candidates’ names, ranks, marks, roll numbers, and percentiles, serving as the basis for counseling and admissions.

The NEET UG 2025 cutoff marks will vary by category:

  • General/UR/EWS: 50th percentile (720–164 marks)
  • OBC/SC/ST: 40th percentile (163–129 marks)
  • UR/EWS-PwD: 45th percentile (163–146 marks)
  • OBC/SC/ST-PwD: 40th percentile (145–129 marks)

These cutoffs determine eligibility for counseling, with higher scores improving chances for admission to top medical colleges.

Tie-Breaking Criteria

In cases where candidates score the same marks, NTA applies the following tie-breaking rules:

  1. Higher marks/percentile in Biology (Botany & Zoology).
  2. Higher marks/percentile in Chemistry.
  3. Higher marks/percentile in Physics.
  4. Lower proportion of incorrect to correct answers across all subjects.
  5. Lower proportion of incorrect to correct answers in Biology, followed by Chemistry and Physics.
  6. If the tie persists, a random process guided by an independent expert committee will resolve it.

This updated policy no longer considers age or application number, unlike previous years.

Counseling and Admission Process

After the results, qualified candidates can register for counseling through the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for 15% AIQ seats or respective state authorities for 85% state quota seats. The counseling process, expected to start soon after June 14, 2025, will allocate approximately 90,000 MBBS and BDS seats across India. Candidates should keep their scorecards safe, as they are required during document verification for counseling.

Important Notes

  • Result Validity: NEET UG 2025 scores are valid for the 2025–26 academic session and can be used for admissions to medical colleges in India and select institutions abroad (e.g., Russia, Kazakhstan, Nepal).
  • No Re-evaluation: The results are final, and NTA does not allow re-checking or re-evaluation of answer sheets.
  • Website Access Issues: If candidates face issues downloading their results, they should ensure they are using the official website (neet.nta.nic.in) and verify their login credentials.
